Homes, farms and land around Galax
Buying or selling in the Blue Ridge of Southwest Virginia, with a real plan, a phone call when it matters, and an agent who knows how you will live there.
Why this works
Marketing is the part most agents skip
Listing a home puts it on the MLS and waits for someone else to bring a buyer. That is where most of the business stops. The homes that sell for more are the ones that get shown to the right people, in the right places, before the sign ever goes up.

How buyers actually find you
Relevancy, recency, proximity
Three things decide whether marketing reaches the person who is actually ready to move. Every page on this site is built to hit all three at once, which is why there is a page for each neighborhood and each situation instead of one page trying to cover everything.
- Relevancy
- Written for one situation at a time. A first-time buyer and someone settling a parent's estate are not the same person and should not read the same page.
- Recency
- Kept current. Market conditions from eighteen months ago are not information, they are decoration.
- Proximity
- Specific to the street, not the county. Galax, Fancy Gap, Hillsville, Laurel Fork and the neighborhoods inside them.
Position. Impact. Conversion.
The E.P.I.C. framework
Four pillars on every home we take. Not a checklist of things agents are supposed to do, an argument for why your home ends up being the obvious choice on the market.
Equity
Not a CMA. Where you actually stand in the data market, the negotiation market, and the buyer's mind, so you are leading the market instead of reacting to it.
Presentation
Perception creates value, so we control the narrative. Photography, video and copy engineered before anything goes public, for a buyer deciding with their thumb.
Impact
Every listing gets its own marketing plan: professional photos, drone shots and video, and targeted Facebook and Instagram ads aimed at buyers in the cities most likely to want your home, like Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Charlotte.
Campaign
You do not list a home, you launch it. Pre-launch buzz, a timed calendar, and offer sequencing, because the first week is the week you never get back.
Buying instead?
The R.E.A.L. framework
Most agents start by showing you houses. We start by getting you ready to win one, because the buyer who gets the good house is almost never the one who saw it first.
Ready
Pre-approved and represented before we tour anything, so you can act the day the right one appears instead of scrambling.
Educated
What your money actually buys here, honestly, before you fall in love with something out of range.
Aligned
Fewer homes, and better ones. We build the search on your real criteria and give you an honest verdict on each one.
Locked
Offer strategy, inspections, financing and closing, run so the ending is boring.
The situation you are actually in
Different circumstances, different plans
The fundamentals do not change. The sequence, the timing and how much coordination it takes change completely. Start where you actually are.

Buying a Home on the Blue Ridge Parkway? Ask About Winter First
Buying a home on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a dream for a lot of people. Before you buy, ask how you'll get to town when the Parkway closes in winter.
Who we are
I'm Linda S Freeman, a REALTOR® and the owner and broker of Avante Realty Group in Woodlawn, Virginia. I grew up on a farm and raised my own cattle to pay for nursing school. I spent years as a registered nurse and case manager before I turned a lifelong interest in real estate into my career, and in January 2025 I opened my own brokerage.
Those three things show up in how I work. The farm means I know land. Nursing means I read people, and I understand that a move often comes with a big change in life. And because I invest in fix-and-flip houses myself, I look with different eyes. Every deal is a big deal to me, no matter the price.
The towns we serve
Avante Realty Group works across the Blue Ridge of Southwest Virginia, in Carroll, Grayson, Wythe and Floyd counties and the City of Galax. Our home towns are Galax, Hillsville, Fancy Gap, Laurel Fork, Woodlawn, Wytheville, Fries, Ivanhoe, Dugspur, Rural Retreat, Cana and Floyd, and we sell homes and land well beyond them.
Our office is at 2812 Carrollton Pike in Woodlawn, right between Galax and Hillsville.
How I sell a home
Most listings get put in the MLS with a few pictures and a sign, and then everybody waits. I'd rather launch a home than list it. Every seller gets their own marketing plan, built around their needs and goals: a price we can defend, professional photos, drone shots and video, and targeted Facebook and Instagram ads that find buyers who aren't searching yet, in places like Winston-Salem, Greensboro and Charlotte.
Then we look at real numbers together at day 30, so every decision comes from data instead of a hunch. You can read the whole plan on how I sell a home, or start with what your home is worth.
Why people work with me
The thing I hear most from buyers and sellers is that they got left in the dark with another agent. Texts instead of calls, and the hard news showing up too late. I pick up the phone for anything that matters, and I talk directly with the other agent, because everybody has to get to the closing table or nobody wins.
I also make sure buyers know how they'll live in a place, not only what they're buying. I once met a couple who bought a house on the Blue Ridge Parkway and nobody told them the Parkway closes in winter. Knowing the area matters as much as knowing the house.
Before I opened Avante Realty Group, I was a consistent top 20% producer at Keller Williams and hit my yearly cap every year, all while working full time as a nurse. Those sales stayed with Keller Williams when I left, because sales records don't move with an agent who changes brokerage, so the history you'll find online starts when I opened my own. You can see what I have for sale now and what I've sold.
